Haven't you ever always wanted to play the latest high-end PC games on your TV, PC or Mac,
instantly? Well, very soon that dream will become a reality thanks to a company called
OnLive that aims to change the face of PC gaming as we know it. What is it you ask us? It’s a
tiny device that Streams games straight to you through your broadband
internet connection right to whereever your OnLive Gear is plugged into and all you need is the Onlive kit and a
subscription, then you're ready to play! And that means no more having to wait to pre-order and go camp in lines just to get a copy of the newest hottest console game out there!

HOW IT WORKS:
OnLive takes the hassle out of Console Gaming and Other Gaming as we know it. All of the action happens
elsewhere, OnLive runs the games on their own self-hosted servers somewhere across the map. There is where they handle
everything from installation on their own hard drives, drivers,
compatibility to, well, you name it. To our current understanding it has been revealed that their hardware is
more powerful than any existing console on the market known to date. Every six months
or less OnLive has stated that they will upgrade their Systems and Servers in order to follow up with and keep up with today’s constant hardware changes. All of this
makes it easier than ever before.
PLUG AND PLAY:
Just plug the OnLive Gear straight into your TV, PC or Mac and begin
playing, that's it! All that is required besides the OnLive Kit is a constant broadband internet connection of some sort with High-Speed Access as this is one of the single most
important parts. After that, playing a game is fast, simple, and instant! All you do
is select the game demo or the full game and that’s it. Downloads are carried out at
blazing speeds, OnLive is supposed to be faster than anything that
we’ve ever seen before. No more waiting, WOOOT!

THE HARDWARE:
OnLive is small enough to fit in your pocket which you can take it anywhere! YAY! No more having to carry around a heavy bulky console in a bag with another bag of games to go to your friends house to play it next door! It has two USB ports, that will support a
keyboard and mouse if you choose, or any other combination to include another controller if you so desire. A
Micro-USB power in, Video/Audio out, an Ethernet port, S/PDIF optical
out and is able to use up to four wireless controllers and four
bluetooth headsets. There is also a Wireless pairing button and comes
with it’s own wireless gamepad, similar to the Xbox 360′s controller.

The controllers layout is the same as an Xbox 360′s gamepad. There is a button that lets you capture Brag Clips, these
are clips of your best gaming moments to show off to others which is a very cool feature. Plus, there
are other buttons for media control access. The best thing is being able to use
your own controller. We were told that any controller will work with OnLive! They
say that the controls work by, "instantly sending your controller
actions upstream and the results back downstream at blinding fast
speeds”. Also as stated before we mentioned being able to use a keyboard and mouse. This will give
you even more added control options, you should be able to set your own
keyboard, mouse and controller mappings.

ACCESSIBILITY:
This new service is not going to make any achievments in accessibily just yet but it is still a future possibility along with other accessories to come.
THE FINAL WORD: We're eagerly looking forward to trying it out, the idea of this whole concept is extremely cool and
interesting. The OnLive service looks to be viable and promising. At the
moment, there is no pricing information for the OnLive Gear,
or, what the monthly subscription cost will be other then we think that it will be somewhere around the 15 dollar per month range? Also we're convinced that this new little gaming gadget will possibly eliminate the need to buy any games ever again maybe. But we'll keep you all posted as to what it will be as we learn more about this cool new gaming toy as it's testing phase and final release date and such draw near!
